Due to internal conflicts,fear, feeling of insecurity, guilt and discrimination, orphans and widows will require psychological support.

Provision of basic needs

The group delivers other organizations support such as provision of relief foods and other support and lastly group members willing to help, provide those needs out their good will to the children.

Medical care

We have considered the proneness to diseases of young children hence undertaking a mission to help them live healthy life through;taking the sick to hospitals and monitoring their recovery,giving products like water guards to ensure that they drink safe water.

Welcome to Mvono Community Centre

 

MVONO (a Taita word meaning GRACE) Community Centre is nonpolitical, nonprofit, Community Based Organization in Taita Taveta County in the Kenyan Coast. It was founded in 2004 with an aim to care and support the vulnerable groups in the community with our major target being Orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), Gender Based Violence Victims (GBV) and Widows. We serve all OVC and Widows who are affected and/or infected and the needy, irrespective of their tribe, religion or political affiliation. Of our total beneficiaries currently, 15.2% of the OVCs are affected by HIV.

Objectives

a) Non formal education/ Vocational Training for women and mature OVC.
b) Advocating for children’s rights through child protection activities.
c) Provide the OVC with their basic needs namely; Shelter (Fostering), medical care, food, clothing, parental and spiritual guidance while protecting the child’s dignity.
d) School sponsorship programme.
e) Support and advocate for GBV Victims
f) Setting up Income Generating Projects (IGPs) to help develop a revolving fund and enable self- reliance attainment in the project activities.
g) Establishing a sustainable steady network with other stakeholders: the government, religious, organized groups, Institutions and Individuals to help promote the value of human life.

It is the group’s pleasure to have more stakeholders who will support the group either on financial, material or advisory support.

The group is sourcing for more donors and well-wisher to support their projects so as to increase and improve service delivery on livelihood Programmes.
